It depends on the picture, really. Sometimes I use Painter IX.5 ([link] ), which mimics using traditional paint brushes, in PhotoShop ([link] ) I use either a default round brush or an oval shaped one for some lineart (the colouring is done using various gradients), and lately I've started using an Android app called LayerPaint ([link] ) which has a small selection of brushes :3

Sorry I can't be more help, I use mostly the default brushes, but there are basic settings you can alter to make them into something that suits you better ^^
